In February 2008, our much loved yellow labrador Charlie was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. His heart was enormously enlarged, and he was suffering from seizures and fainting. His health deteriorated rapidly, and we were told by specialist cardiac surgeon Peter Laverty that unless a pacemaker was fitted, we would lose Charlie within two months. We scheduled the implant immediately. Charlie (after some adjustments to the pacemaker) is now healthy and active, and back to his old mischevious self. During this terribly unpleasant life altering event we relied heavily on the internet to help us understand what was happening with our dog, and what we could expect before, during and after the implantation. Sadly, there is a noticable lack of information on this subject. I decided to put my site building skills to work and start building a site which I hope will fill this void. My aim is to not only create a rich and meaningful information source for those who's pet will require implantation, but hopefully a support network where discussions on this topic can take place in a spam free environment, and a free exchange of information can take place.
